Curriculum Pacing Guides

Jackson County School District
Lisa McCartney, Ph.D., Curriculum Director
Note: The current pacing guides based on the MDE Curriculum Frameworks will continue to be utilized in grades 3 - 12 during the next two years as we move toward full implementation of the
Common Core State Standards.

The Jackson County School District is committed to providing a superior educational experience for all students. All stakeholders work together to ensure that academic rigor is achieved. With that goal in mind, curriculum pacing guides were developed in grades K-6 in the areas of reading, language arts, and mathematics. We believe that these curriculum guides will promote continuity throughout the Jackson County School District while also ensuring that all children are held to the highest standards. These pacing guides were developed by the Jackson County School District Curriculum Council which is comprised of teacher representatives from each school in the Jackson County School District. The curriculum guides are based on the Mississippi English Language Arts Frameworks, the National Council of Teachers of English standards, the Mississippi Mathematics Frameworks, and the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics standards.
